Girls basketball: La Center 44, Stevenson 36

Katie Whitten scored 14 of her 17 points in the fourth quarter, helping the host Wildcats pull away for the Trico League win.

La Center (2-0, 1-0) outscored Stevenson 18-11 in the fourth quarter sfter the Bulldogs battled back from a slow start to pull even.

Sam Wise had 16 rebounds, five steals, three blocked shots, and three assists for La Center.

The Wildcats started fast, outscoring the Bulldogs 17-8 in the first quarter. The visitors rallied to tie the score, but never pulled ahead.
