The Vancouver man injured in last week’s fatal car crash in Hazel Dell remained in critical condition at PeaceHealth Southwest Medical Center, hospital spokesman Ken Cole said Tuesday.

Joseph Reilly, 21, is looking better physically but is still in a coma, family spokesman Aaron Hahn said. Hahn said the family and doctors are taking things one day at a time.

Hahn again thanked the public for well wishes and support.

Anyone wanting to help the family pay for medical bills can donate to the “Fund for Joseph M. Reilly” at any TwinStar Credit Union branch.

The Smokey’s Pizza in Hazel Dell, where Reilly works, will have a fundraiser for the family Tuesday. Twenty percent of all proceeds between 6 and 9 p.m. will be donated to the fund, Hahn said. Both Smokey’s locations will have donation jars for the fund starting Wednesday.
