Motorist injured after vehicle strikes tree on McGillivray Boulevard

A man was taken to a local hospital after the vehicle he was driving struck a tree Tuesday night on McGillivray Boulevard at Chkalov Drive, officials said.
The crash happened about 9:40 p.m. The vehicle was eastbound and the man was driving alone.
Vancouver fire Capt. Scott Willis said the man was trapped in his vehicle and firefighters removed a door with a hydraulic tool.
The man complained of neck pain and other injuries, Willis said.
McGillivray was shut down for a while because of the accident, Willis said.
