Cal State Northridge overpowers Vanguard 120-69

NORTHRIDGE, Calif. (AP) — Stephen Hicks scored 23 points, leading six Matadors in double-figures as Cal State Northridge overpowered Vanguard 120-69 on Wednesday night in an exhibition game.

Hicks added 11 rebounds for a double-double performance. He was 9 of 12 from the field, scoring 13 of his points in the first half.

Stephen Maxwell scored 16 points, and Josh Greene had 15 points and nine assists. Tre Hale-Edmerson added 10. The Matadors (7-2) got 52 bench points. Landon Drew had 12, and Trevone Williams had 10.

The Matadors led 58-37 at halftime and shot 67 percent from the field for the game.

Vanguard shot 37 percent from the field for the game.

Preston Wynne led Vanguard with 17 points, and Chris Gorman had 15 points, five rebounds and five assists.

Vanguard (6-5) plays in the NAIA.
