Letter Bullying is too common in schools

Sticks and stones may break my bones, but words are swords that pierce me. When a person is bullied, you cannot expect them to get up and forget about it. Words will follow them where ever they go. If a bully is expelled or suspended from school, his or her rampage will not be stopped. Bullying cannot be taken lightly.

There are people who commit suicide because they cannot take it anymore. Just this year, there have been three suicides in Battle Ground High School. If only something had been done sooner.

Take it from a student who has witnessed the cruel effects of bullying. It starts with just two people, or sometimes a small group. Then everyone around them joins into the mess.

And the bullied person is left all alone.

The only way to stop this is to have bigger consequences for acts of bullying so that it becomes something that no one is willing to do.
