As we look forward to many fine traditions of the holiday season, one that has brought much joy to me and my family has been a ride on one of the Christmas train excursions of the Chelatchie Prairie Railroad and the Chehalis-Centralia Railroad.
For those who love trains and Christmas trees, the Chelatchie Prairie Railroad has your ticket. It is the only tourist railroad in the Pacific Northwest that offers a beautiful Christmas tree with a ride through the picturesque landscape of northern Clark County.
The Chehalis-Centralia Railroad goes through the beautiful Chehalis River Valley and has several holiday trains with a shorter Santa train and a longer Polar Express train made famous by the movie of the same name. And with both excursions pulled by a classic steam locomotive, it makes those rides even more special.
Both railroads begin their Christmas trains right after Thanksgiving, so it’s best that you plan your trip on either railroad as soon as possible before they are sold out for the season.
