POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y. (AP) — Harold Washington scored 25 points, Billy Baron had a double-double and Chris Manhertz grabbed a career-best 18 rebounds as Canisius beat Marist 94-82 Sunday.

Baron finished with 16 points, 11 assists and eight rebounds. Alshwan Hymes came off the bench for 13 points and Isaac Sosa chipped in 11 for the Golden Griffins, who scored the game’s first three points and rolled to a 43-26 halftime lead behind eight first-half 3-pointers.

Canisius (6-1, 2-0 Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference), which recorded its highest point total since a 109-106 overtime loss to Niagara on Dec. 3, 2003, shot 36.6 percent (16 of 31) in the first half but improved to 51 percent (16 of 31) after intermission on the strength of 9-of-18 shooting from deep.

The Golden Griffins’ 17 3-pointers were the most they’ve made since hitting 15 against Coastal Carolina in 2007.

Devin Price led Marist (3-6, 1-1) with 25 points.
