The Timberwolves built a 23-point lead with about five minutes to play and was able to hold off the Hawks' late charge.

"We picked up the pressure and got some turnovers that gave us a chance," Hockinson coach Matt Gruhler said. "We just got in too big a hole."

After Heritage missed the front end of a 1-and-1 free throw attempt in the closing seconds, Hockinson came down but missed a 3-point attempt at the end that would have tied the game.

Tim Hergert scored 16 points to lead the Heritage (2-4) scorers. Marquis Evans had 14 and David Martin 13.

Jack Klodt had 18 for Hockinson (1-4), and Wyatt Yearout had 14 points and eight rebounds. Alan Haagen had 15 points.
