BERKELEY, Calif. (AP) — California coach Sonny Dykes is bringing two of his former assistants at Louisiana Tech to his new job,

Dykes announced Tuesday that Tony Franklin will be the offensive coordinator for the Golden Bears and Rob Likens will coach receivers. Both men had the same role under Dykes at Louisiana Tech the past three seasons.

Franklin helped run the offense that led the nation in scoring this season with 51.5 points per game. He was a nominee for the Broyles Award for the nation’s top assistant and Dykes called him one of the top offensive coaches in the country.

Likens also was part of that offensive staff and coached second-team All-American and Biletnikoff Award semifinalist Quinton Patton this past season.
