Three players scored in double figures and the Eagles’ defense led the way to the first win of the season for Hudson’s Bay.

A 23-6 second quarter gave the visiting Eagles a 19-point halftime lead, and the Chieftans managed to score only seven points in the second half.

Lynnese Harrell scored a game-high 19 points for Hudson’s Bay (1-7, 1-1). Bailey Freeman and Paris Collins added 11 points apiece.

“They really shot the ball well. They just made everything, and we turned the ball over too much,” River coach Carl Click said.

Marion Lilly’s five points topped the scoring for Columbia River (2-6, 0-2). The Chieftains’ Holli Jo Chase left the game in the third quarter with a knee injury.
