The Clark County Sheriff’s Office adopted a new online citizen reporting system, provided by CopLogic, that allows people to report minor crimes online.

Reports submitted through the Citizens Online Police Reporting Systems will be reviewed by the sheriff’s office, then approved and transferred into the records management system, according to a sheriff’s office bulletin. Once the report is approved, the person who filed it will receive a copy via email.

Typical crimes reported online include vehicle prowls, identity theft, fraud, property crimes, hit and run and telephone harassment. Emergency calls must still be reported through 911.

This new systems frees up time for deputies to address community needs, the release said.
