EDEN PRAIRIE, Minn. (AP) — Minnesota Vikings punter Chris Kluwe’s latest campaign for a cause isn’t sitting well with his position coach.

Vikings special teams coordinator Mike Priefer says Kluwe needs to “focus on punting and holding.” Kluwe has been one of the most outspoken players in the NFL, taking up very public fights for gay marriage and against drunken driving this season.

Priefer says “it’s getting old.”

On Sunday against the Bears, Kluwe put a message over the Hall of Fame patch on his jersey that read “Vote Ray Guy” for the former Raiders punter. It was an effort to raise awareness that the Hall of Fame does not have a punter enshrined, and it cost Kluwe a $5,250 fine from the NFL.

Priefer says wants Kluwe to concentrate on his job.
