INGLEWOOD, Calif. (AP) — Heavily favored filly In the Stars ran down early leader Kune Kune in the final yards to win the $53,050 feature on Friday at Betfair Hollywood Park.
Ridden by Corey Nakatani, the Brazilian-bred 4-year-old In the Stars beat Kune Kune by a half-length for her second victory in four U.S. starts, covering a mile on turf in 1:36.12.
In the Stars paid $4.60, $2.60 and $2.60. Kune Kune paid $5 and $3.80. Plaza de Indias was another half-length back in third and returned $3.20 to show.
