Bethune-Cookman tops Florida Christian 102-51

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. (AP) — Adrien Coleman scored 23 points to go with seven rebounds and seven assists and Alex Smith tallied a double-double in Bethune-Cookman’s 102-51 win over Division II program Florida Christian on Monday.

Kevin Dukes, Paul Scotland and Brandon Stewart all had 14 points while Smith finished with 10 points and 14 rebounds for Bethune-Cookman (5-8), which scored its most points since a 104-103 double-overtime win against Morgan State in 2003.

Florida Christian (9-5) did not score until 5 minutes into the first half, as Bethune-Cookman opened the game on an 8-0 run and expanded its lead to 23-3 behind a dunk from Coleman.

Bethune-Cookman took a 48-17 lead into halftime and used a 14-4 run over the first 4 minutes of the second half to push its advantage to 62-21. Coleman and Smith combined for 10 points during the spurt.

Kenny Blanc had 16 points and nine rebounds for Florida Christian.
