Brock Wade hit a 3-pointer with five seconds left to give the host Bearcats the non-league win.

Hockinson did not get off a potential winning shot after Wade's basket. Wade's winner came after the Hawks missed the front end of a one-and-one chance from the foul line with 12 seconds to play.

"They just made the big shot when it counted," Hockinson coach Matt Gruhler said, describing the game as playoff-like.

W.F. West opened the game with an 11-0 run and led 15-7 after one quarter. Hockinson (3-5) was within four by halftime, and led 30-28 after a low-scoring third quarter. Both teams led multiple times down the stretch.

Taylor Rennaker scored 17 points to lead Hockinson and Wyatt Yearout added 14.

Nate Sherfey led W.F. West scoring with 18 points, and Wade finished with 12.
