South Florida beats Youngstown State 72-54

TAMPA, Fla. (AP) — Victor Rudd scored 16 points and grabbed 16 rebounds to lead South Florida to a 72-54 victory over Youngstown State on Tuesday night in a nonconference matchup.

Anthony Collins added 14 points and Toarlyn Fitzpatrick finished with 11 for South Florida (6-3).

Kendrick Perry led Youngstown State (6-5) with 15 points before fouling out, and Bob Hain had 11 for the Penguins.

Youngstown State led 45-39 early in the second half before South Florida took control with a 13-2 run.

Perry connected four times from long range in the first half, but it took his driving layup at the buzzer to even the score at 39. Rudd had 10 points and eight rebounds at the break.
