Esther Short — Divine Consign Furniture’s Gifts for Our Community program awarded $16,000 in grants to eight regional organizations. The groups were chosen because of their service in human services, arts and education. Six groups received $2,500 each, and two were awarded $500. Divine Consign, 904 Main St., is a nonprofit, volunteer-run furniture store that takes donated and consigned furniture, and donates money from its sales to charities. The organizations that received checks at a recent luncheon were Ace’s Place, Clark County Food Bank, Columbia Dance, Harney Elementary School’s Parent Teacher Organization, Family Solutions, Free Clinic of Southwest Washington, Vancouver School District Foundation and the Clark County YWCA.
