Washougal fourth-graders learn joys of creating, giving

Washougal — Cape Horn-Skye Elementary fourth-graders learned the joy of giving to people in need by making Christmas crafts in class and then “selling” them to parents for donations of food and clothing for Open House Ministries in Vancouver. “The Giving Tree Project” was a combined effort by students in the classrooms of Kam Lawrence, Alice Yang and Darcy Hickey. The youngsters collected more than 850 items. Lucy Gaspar from Open House Ministries said they appreciate all the hard work the school staff and students did in collecting the items.
