Princeton pulls away from Rider 62-45

PRINCETON, N.J. (AP) — Hans Brase scored 17 points and Denton Koon and Ian Hummer added 15 apiece to lead Princeton to a 62-45 win over Rider on Thursday.

Brase made 7 of 9 shot attempts while Koon made 7 of 10 for the Tigers (4-6), who shot 54.2 percent (26 of 58) from the field. Hummer, who became just the second Princeton player to reach the 1,300 point and 600 rebound milestone, moved into the eighth place all-time on the Tigers’ career-points list (1,323) and sixth place for career-field goals made (518).

Princeton led 27-21 at halftime and outscored Rider (6-6) 29-15 over the first 14 minutes of the second half to take a 56-36 lead with 5:57 remaining. Hummer scored nine points during the run, Koon had eight and Brase had six.

Anthony Myles had 18 for Rider and Jonathan Thompson 14 but the Broncs shot just 36.4 percent (16-for-44)
