Eric Bugna, Skyview swimming
Skyview's Eric Bugna was voted The Columbian's high school athlete of the week for the week of Dec. 10-15 in a vote by fans on Facebook.
Bugna collected 39 percent of the 383 votes cast to beat out Mountain View basketball player Luke DuChesne, who had 28 percent.
Bugna made a state qualifying time in the 100 butterfly (54.84) and also won the 100 backstroke (57.82) in a meet at Kelso..
Other nominees included Evergreen girls basketball player Deja Nicholas, Heritage bowler Leila Stutesman and Washougal wrestler Stephen Camden.
Nominees are posted on The Columbian's prep sports blog at www.360preps.com by Monday. Voting starts Monday and continues through 8 p.m. Thursday at www.facebook.com/360preps.
