The following is a press release from the University of Oregon Athletic Department:

University of Oregon senior offensive lineman Nick Cody and junior defensive lineman Axel McQuaw will not accompany the Ducks to the Fiesta Bowl after failing to meet the minimum NCAA academic requirements necessary to participate in the post season, according to head coach Chip Kelly.

Cody, a fourth-year letterman from Brush Prairie accumulated 18 starting assignments at right guard and tackle over the past four years, including the first six games of the 2012 season.

McQuaw, a non-scholarship player from Waldport, had been with the Ducks the last three seasons. He did not play in any games this year after making three appearances in a reserve role in 2011.

Oregon reconvenes in Scottsdale, Ariz., on Wednesday, Dec. 26, to resume preparations for the 42nd annual Tostitos Fiesta Bowl on Thursday, Jan. 3
