Battle Ground -- The school district has been on a bit of a demolition derby lately. In 2012, it razed three vacant, unused buildings. The latest was the 1935 bus barn and home economics building -- which, a school district newsletter notes, was right up against Main Street, with hardly any setback at all. The demolition took place Dec. 18-19. The contractor was 3 Kings Environmental, a Battle Ground company. The other two buildings to come down this year were the Central School on Parkway Avenue and Amboy Middle School.
