Letter: Madore: from boss to employee

The Columbian
Published: December 27, 2012, 4:00pm

I suggest that County Commissioner-elect David Madore dust off his civics textbooks and study same. While he may command prompt compliance with his corporation’s rules, etc., by his minions, he needs to remember that he will be our employee and the governmental units’ operational constraints are far different.

He was elected, not anointed, by the public. It might be well remembered that until he is sworn in to office, he is not yet a county commissioner, and thus while anyone is privileged to attend public meetings, the public’s responsibility is to sit down, shut up, and should one have questions and/or comments, these are to be held for the scheduled item on the agenda.
