Boston College hits 3s, beats Holy Cross 70-60

BOSTON (AP) — Patrick Heckmann connected on five 3-pointers en route to 19 points, Ryan Anderson scored 18 and grabbed 10 rebounds and Boston College beat Holy Cross 70-60 Saturday in the 112th meeting between the intrastate rivals.

The Eagles (7-5) went 10-for-24 (41.7 percent) on 3-point attempts to earn their fourth straight win. They’ve won 17 of the last 19 meetings with Holy Cross, located about 35 miles away in Worcester.

Eric Obeysekere led Holy Cross (7-6) with 17 points and Dave Dudzinski had 15. The Crusaders were 2-for-19 on 3-point attempts.

Boston College was clinging to 37-35 lead early in the second half before it broke the game open with 15 straight points over a 6:26 stretch. Heckmann started the spree by banking in a 3-pointer from the right wing. He added another 3 from the right side just over a minute after Olivier Hanlan’s 3 from the left wing.
