FORT WORTH, Texas (AP) — Adrick McKinney scored the tiebreaking basket with 34 seconds left and TCU held on to beat Mississippi Valley State 67-64 Sunday.

MVSU led 62-60 after Darryl Mitchell scored with 2:30 to go, but McKinney’s layup with 1:40 to go tied it, and then his putback layup gave the Horned Frogs (9-4) the lead for good. Garlon Green made a pair of free throws and Kyan Anderson made another one for TCU following Marshall’s basket that cut the lead to 66-64. Marshall missed a tying 3-point attempt before the buzzer.

Anderson scored 16 points, Green finished with 15 and McKinney had 13 points.

Matt Smith had 17 points to lead the Delta Devils (0-10). Davon Usher, MVSU’s top scorer, was held to six points on 3-of-10 shooting.

It was the Horned Frogs’ final nonconference game before the Big 12 season begins Saturday against Texas Tech. TCU has won three straight.
