A&M wins men’s title at Collegiate Invitational

NEW YORK (AP) — Texas A&M took the men’s title with 85 points and Clemson won the women’s crown with 93 points Saturday at the Collegiate Invitational.

LSU finished second in the men’s standings with 75 points, followed by Mississippi State with 59. BYU was runner-up among the women with 64 points, followed by LSU with 60.

BYU set the Armory and meet records in the women’s 3,200-meter relay, clocking at 8 minutes, 37.97 seconds. The old Armory mark of 8:39.34 was set by Villanova in 2010. The old meet record of 8:47.76 was set by BYU in 2010.

Nachelle Mackie of BYU set the Armory collegiate and meet records in the women’s 800 meters at 2:03.56, breaking the mark of 2:04.54 set by LaTavia Thomas of LSU in 2009.
