PHILADEPHIA (AP) — Halil Kanacevic scored 18 points and grabbed 15 rebounds to help Saint Joseph’s hold off La Salle in a 70-66 win on Saturday.

Kanacevic also had four assists, two blocked shots and two steals for the Hawks (15-9, 5-4 Atlantic 10), who have won two straight. Carl Jones pitched in with 13 points.

Saint Joseph’s led by as many as 11 points in the second half but had a tough time holding off the Explorers. La Salle managed to cut the margin to 67-66 on Earl Pettis’ dunk with 11 seconds left in the game.

But the Explorers (17-7, 6-3) scored no more, as Saint Joseph’s responded with two free throws by C.J. Aiken and a late free by Langston Galloway to give the Hawks enough cushion for the victory.

Pettis led La Salle with 17 points, but struggled from the floor with a 6 of 18 shooting effort.
