Pearson leads George Mason past Old Dominion 54-50

FAIRFAX, Va. (AP) — Ryan Pearson scored 15 of his 17 points in the second half and George Mason held on for a 54-50 Colonial Athletic Association win Saturday night against Old Dominion.

Pearson added 10 rebounds for the Patriots (19-6, 11-2 Colonial Athletic Association).

Reserve Trian Iliadis led Old Dominion (15-10, 10-3) with 13 points.

The Patriots shot 27.7 percent (13 of 47) from the field, but converted 27 of 35 free throws. Old Dominion hit 19 of 58 shots (32.8 percent) and only 10 of 18 free throws.

George Mason trailed by six at intermission, but used a 16-2 run to take a 36-30 lead with 11:24 left to play.

Pearson was the only Patriot in double figures. Kent Bazemore scored 11 points for the Monarchs and Chris Cooper added 10 points and 10 rebounds in just 23 minutes before fouling out.
