SPOKANE, Wash. (AP) -- Spokane police have arrested a 28-year-old man accused of attempting to strangle his live-in girlfriend.
Police say Wayne S. Cooper was booked into jail Saturday on investigation of second-degree assault.
Officers who responded to the call Saturday afternoon searched the neighborhood for Cooper, after he reportedly fled the house with a handgun.
One officer was eventually able to call Cooper on his cell phone and convince him to contact officers.
