The Tigers made their move over the middle two quarters, outscoring the visiting Titans 35-23 over that span.

Jamie Ford scored 12 of his team-high 16 points during the second quarter to help Battle Ground to a five-point halftime lead. Serg Ovchinnikov scored eight of his 15 during the third quarter when the lead grew to double digits.

“It was just a good team win for us,” Battle Ground coach Andy Schoonover said.

Despite this win, the Tigers (12-7, 6-5) must beat Skyview on Friday to advance to postseason.

Jake Belford had 12 rebounds and three assists, and Kaleb McGary grabbed eight rebounds.

Union (14-5, 9-2), the Class 4A GSHL champion, played without starter Jordan Chatman who was serving a one-game suspension after being ejected from the Titans’ previous game.
