MOUNT PLEASANT, Mich. (AP) — Javon McCrea scored 16 points leading four Buffalo players in double figures, and the Bulls won their seventh straight game by beating Central Michigan 66-62 Wednesday night.
McCrea also had 10 rebounds for Buffalo (15-6, 8-2 Mid-American). Mitchell Watt scored 15 points, Zach Filzen had 12 points and Auraum Nuiriankh scored 11 for the Bulls, who have won four MAC road games in a row for the first time.
Olivier Mbaigoto scored 18 to lead all scorers for the Chippewas (7-16, 2-8), who have lost eight in a row after winning their first two MAC games. Three Central Michigan players — Austin Keel, Austin McBroom and Derek Jackson — scored 11 points.
Buffalo outrebounded the Chippewas 48-27 and held CMU to 32 percent shooting from the field, but the Bulls struggled at the free-throw line, making just 10 of 23 attempts, to keep it close.
