Drexel pulls away from James Madison 63-56

HARRISONBURG, Va. (AP) — Frantz Massenat scored 16 points and Samme Givens recorded a double-double as Drexel won its 12th straight game, beating James Madison 63-56 on Wednesday night.

Damion Lee added 12 for the Dragons (20-5, 12-2 Colonial Athletic Association), who have won 18 of their last 19 games after starting the season 1-4.

James Madison (10-16, 3-11) cut Drexel’s second half lead to three, 35-32, behind two Devon Moore free throws. However, Daryl McCoy converted a pair of free throws of his own, sparking a 16-5 Drexel run.

McCoy capped the run with two more free throws and the Dragons led 51-37 with 9:04 left to play.

Lee had six during the run while Massenat and Givens both added layups.

Givens, who finished with 14, had a game-high 13 boards for the Dragons who outrebounded the Dukes 37-26.

A.J. Davis led James Madison with 13 and Humpty Hitchens added 11.
