La Center — Chef Joycelyn Kelly of Gumbo Goddess Catering has won again. Out of more than 1,400 jambalaya samples at the fourth-annual Lincoln City (Ore.) Jambalaya Cook-Off on Jan. 28, Kelly’s received the People’s Choice Award.

The kudos aren’t new for Kelly. In 2011, she won the second place People’s Choice Award for her jambalaya, as well. Gumbo Goddess began offering its goods at the Vancouver Farmers Market in 2006 and moved to La Center in 2007.

Kelly owns the catering company, which specializes in Cajun cuisine, and coordinates parties.

With Mardi Gras coming up on Feb. 21, Kelly said she’d like to do more Mardi Gras-themed parties. Contact Kelly or order food at gumbo.goddess@gmail.com.
