Mistrial: case of OR woman accused of killing baby
Wednesday, February 8, 2012
EUGENE, Ore. (AP) -- An Oregon jury says it is hopelessly deadlocked in the case of a 24-year-old hotel clerk accused of killing her newborn son. A judge in Eugene declared a mistrial Wednesday in the murder trial of Angelica Swartout.
The woman testified that her pregnancy was a charade and she confessed to killing an infant to avoid exposing the lie.
