Ohio Wesleyan hires Tom Watts as football coach

DELAWARE, Ohio (AP) -- Ohio Wesleyan hired Baldwin-Wallace assistant Tom Watts as its head football coach Wednesday.

Watts spent the past three seasons at Baldwin-Wallace as special teams coordinator, defensive backs coach and recruiting coordinator.

Before coaching at Baldwin-Wallace, Watts was defensive coordinator and linebackers coach at Westminster College in Pennsylvania, defensive coordinator and defensive backs coach at the University of Wisconsin-Platteville and co-defensive coordinator and defensive line coach at Waynesburg College in Pennsylvania.

Watts, a 2002 graduate of Hanover College in Indiana, is a Westfield Center native who played at Lodi Cloverleaf High School.

His great-grandfather, Ray, coached football and basketball and served as athletic director at Baldwin-Wallace. His grandfather, Wade, and father, Tom Sr., coached at the high school level.
