Battle Ground — Volunteers from the Washington Trail Riders Association, Backcountry Horsemen Mount. St. Helens Chapter, Washington Trails Association and Chinook Trails Association spent Jan. 28 cleaning up the trails at Battle Ground Lake State Park.

The 30 volunteers cleared brush, removed fallen trees, and dug out water bars and mud for better trail drainage.

Another work party is scheduled for Feb. 25, and in August, there will be a gravel haul-in to prepare for the next rainy season. Volunteers also provided food for the workers.
