Delle Donne helps Hens win 11th in a row

NEWARK, Del. (AP) — Elena Delle Donne had 27 points and 15 rebounds to lead No. 12 Delaware to its 11th straight victory, a 76-63 win over Old Dominion on Thursday night.

The Blue Hens (21-1, 12-0 Colonial Athletic Association) led from start to finish although they had to withstand a rally by the Monarchs (6-16, 5-7) in the second half. The country’s leading scorer at 28.1 points per game, Delle Donne hit 11-of-24 shots from the floor.

Lauren Carra added 18 points for Delaware while teammate Danielle Parker scored 13. The Hens finished with a 48-41 edge in rebounds.

Tia Lewis had a team-high 15 points for Old Dominion with Myeisha Hall adding 14 and Jackie Cook scoring 11.

The victory was only the fifth for Delaware in 22 all-time games against Old Dominion.
