Sacramento State tops Montana State 86-76

SACRAMENTO, Calif. (AP) — Joe Eberhard scored 23 points and shot 5 of 5 on 3-pointers in lifting Sacramento State to an 86-76 win over Montana State on Thursday night.

Sacramento State (9-14, 4-8 Big Sky) shot 62.2 percent from the field, including a torrid 57.9 percent (11 of 19) on 3-pointers.

Montana State (11-12, 6-6), which trailed 38-29 at halftime, dug itself out of a 17-point deficit in the second half to get within 79-74 with 1:47 remaining, but the Hornets held Montana State to 1 of 4 shooting and forced a turnover for the remainder to win comfortably.

Jackson Carbajal and Dylan Garrity scored 14 apiece for Sacramento State.

Tre Johnson led with 17 points and Shawn Reid added 16 for Montana State.
