KANSAS CITY, Mo. (AP) — Reggie Chamberlain scored 27 points, including four 3-pointers, to help UMKC snap a three-game losing streak with a surprising 72-61 win Thursday night over North Dakota State.

Chamberlain, who came in averaging 17.0 points per game, was 10 of 14 from the field and finished three points shy of his career high. Kirk Korver added 11 points for the Kangaroos (10-16, 4-10 Summit), who never trailed and shot 52 percent from the field.

Taylor Braun had 13 points and Drew Lundberg scored 10 for the Bison (15-9, 8-6).

UMKC scored the game’s first five points and cruised from there. In the first half, back-to-back 3-pointers from Mike Felt and Braun cut the Kangaroos’ lead to 27-19, but Chamberlain followed with a jumper and the Bison never got within single digits again.

UMKC led by as many as 23 in the second half before a late North Dakota State run.
