SOLDEU-GRANDVALIRA, Andorra (AP) — A women’s World Cup giant slalom scheduled for Friday has been canceled because of high winds in the Pyrenees mountains of Andorra.

Wind reaching 62 mph knocked down temporary structures at the base of the 1,300-foot Avet slope during the night. After a 212-hour delay, the organizers called the race off.

The giant slalom will not be moved to Monday, organizers said. They didn’t know yet if it will be canceled or moved to another date.

The organizers also flipped the order of two races this weekend.

The slalom originally scheduled for Sunday was moved to Saturday in the hope that the shorter course on the lower section of the slope will better shield the wind. The second giant slalom on Saturday was moved to Sunday.
