Three consecutive steals by Max Ballantyne led to consecutive scoring possessions as the Spudders recovered from six points down to pull away for the win at the 1A district tournament at Kelso.

Ridgefield (16-5) used a big rebounding advantage and solid defense in outscoring Hoquiam 23-15 in the fourth quarter.

Sam Landerholm led the Spudders in scoring with 23 points, and Michael Potter had 17.

Ridgefield advances to face Onalaska on Tuesday at Black Hills or Kelso.
