BREMERTON, Wash. (AP) -- Police in Bremerton, Wash., say two recent homicides and a non-fatal stabbing may be linked and they are working with the FBI and nearby police agencies to solve the crimes.
Police have not announced a cause of death in the Feb. 3 murder of Melody Brannon.
The first victim, 19-year-old Sara Burke, was fatally stabbed last May. A 50-year-old Bremerton man was stabbed last June but recovered.
The crimes happened within a few blocks of each other, each victim was alone and the attacks appear random.
Lt. Pete Fisher said Friday that the crimes happened in areas of high vehicular and foot traffic. Investigators hope someone may have seen something that will aid the investigation.
Fisher says police have increased patrols.
