North Thurston rallied from 10 points down in the fourth quarter and beat the Beavers in double overtime in a first-round game of the 2A district tournament.

“We had a bunch of chances to win it, but we just couldn’t put them away,” Woodland coach Glen Flanagan said. “The girls played hard. I’m really proud of the way they played. We just needs a bounce here or there.”

Woodland will face Black Hills on Tuesday, likely in Chehalis, in a loser-out game.

The Beavers led by 10 points in the fourth quarter, but North Thurston rallied. Woodland point guard Taylor McCullough fouled out in the fourth quarter, leading the Beavers to struggle on offense.

Woodland led 42-40 late in the fourth quarter with North Thurston shooting a free throw. The Rams missed the free throw because chased down a long rebound and found an open player under the basket to force overtime.

Emily Smith had 20 points and 14 rebounds, and Sidra Malik added 10 points and seven steals.
