Saturday, February 11, 2012
Mary M. Knight used its inside height and took advantage of poor free-throw shooting by the Cougars to eliminate Seton Catholic from the 1B district playoffs.
“They’ve got two 6-5 kids who give them a strong inside presence,” Seton coach Jon Schroeder said. “They crashed the boards pretty well all night.”
Seton also struggled from the line, making 2 of 16 free throw attempts.
Evan Simms had 14 points, six rebounds and five assists to lead Seton. Drew Fuller added 13 points and Connor McDaid-O’Neill added four points, six steals and five rebounds.
“It was a good season for us, No. 3 overall,” Schroeder said. “We feel pretty blessed with the season we had.”
