Letter: Outlook for state dim

The Columbian
Published: February 10, 2012, 4:00pm

Moody’s and Fitch ratings both have a negative outlook for the state of Washington due to “structural budget problems.”

At the same time, state Sen. Craig Pridemore, D-Vancouver, wants to forgive overpayments made by the state’s Department of Social and Health Services. (Reported in a Feb. 4 story “Pridemore targets DSHS mistake: Senator sponsors bill after agency demands $3,000 it overpaid single mother.”)

Meanwhile, our legislative bodies in Olympia are absolutely giddy about gay marriage.

God help us.
