What the business does: Trail Tech designs and manufacturers high-performance digital meters such as speedometers and voltmeters. It also makes high-intensity discharge and light-emitting diode lighting, plus electrical systems for motorcycles and off-road vehicles. The company sells its products to retail customers, dealers and other manufacturers around the world. Trail Tech employs engineers across multiple disciplines in order to respond quickly and comprehensively to customer requirements.

How has the economy affected your business: Several dealers have closed and new bike sales declined significantly over the past few years. Through the current economic downturn Trail Tech has experienced growth, however, by designing new products and developing new markets for existing products.

Greatest challenge: Trail Tech’s greatest challenge is managing growth: changing systems, hiring people, developing new products and improving efficiency.

What’s ahead: Expansion and growth of current product lines and focus on new product development.
