BUFFALO, N.Y. (AP) — Mitchell Watt scored 16 points and had six blocks, including one with 2 seconds left, to help Buffalo beat Western Michigan 59-57 on Saturday.
The Bulls (16-6, 9-2 Mid-American Conference) 57-56 after Mike Douglas’ three-point play put Western Michigan up with 24 seconds left.
Zach Filzen’s jumper gave the Bulls a 58-57 lead with 12 seconds left but the Broncos had a chance to regain the lead in the last seconds.
Mike Douglas then had his layup blocked by Watt. Matt Stainbrook came down with the offensive rebound and was fouled. He missed both free throws, and Dave Barnett made 1 of 2 on the other end to seal it for Buffalo.
