Clark County — AARP Tax-Aide will provide free tax assistance and preparation again this year, geared toward taxpayers 60 and older with low or moderate incomes.

AARP Tax-Aide volunteers, trained in cooperation with the Internal Revenue Service, will help with personal income tax returns at seven locations around Clark County. Last year, volunteers helped clients prepare more than 3,200 federal tax returns and 750 Oregon state tax returns. (Washington does not have a state income tax.)

Volunteers are staffing the following locations, now through April 17: Vancouver Community Library, Three Creeks Community Library, Cascade Park Community Library, Battle Ground Community Library, Fisher’s Landing Assisted Living, Marshall Community Center and the Vancouver First Baptist Church at 27th and Main streets. Days and hours of operation vary by site. Appointments will be accepted during the first hour of each shift at Fisher’s Landing, the newest location. To sign up, call 360-573-5701.

For more information, including specific days and hours, call 888-687-2277 or visit http://aarp.org/applications/VMISLocator/taxAideLocations.action.
