BALTIMORE (AP) — Michael Harper scored 26 points and his 3-pointer with 2 seconds remaining lifted Coppin State over Maryland-Eastern Shore 81-78 on Monday night.
Harper scored 16 points in the second half for the Eagles (13-12, 8-4 Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference), who led by 20 points, 46-26, with less than a minute gone in the half.
The Hawks (6-18, 3-8) turned to the 3-point shot, making 9 of 16 in the second half while shooting 53.8 percent (21 of 39) overall in the final 20 minutes. They also came up with 14 points on the Eagles’ nine second-half turnovers.
Tyler Hines’ offensive rebound and layup cut Maryland-Eastern Shore’s deficit to 78-76, and Olatunji Kosile’s layup tied it with 15 seconds left.
