SEATTLE (AP) — Democratic gubernatorial candidate Jay Inslee raised more than $473,000 in January and has now brought in a total of $3.79 million, his campaign said Monday.
Inslee’s Republican opponent, Attorney General Rob McKenna, has had to stop collecting donations because state officials are prohibited from fundraising while the Legislature is in session. McKenna has raised a total of $3.73 million, according to the latest figures from the state Public Disclosure Commission.
Inslee, a member of the U.S. House of Representatives, does not have to abide by the fundraising freeze because he holds federal office.
